Hostel Mostel Sofia: The Hostest with the Mostest

Recently I travelled to the wonderful city of Sofia in Bulgaria, and as I chugged along on the Inter Rail train watching elderly couples playing cards or with their backgammon sets, I began to fret that I didn’t have any where pre booked to stay that evening in the city. However, I had no need to worry because after arriving in the city and asking around in a few local cafes, I was pointed in the direction of Hostel Mostel, with their free all you can eat breakfast, free connection to Wi Fi all around the hostel premises, and most wonderful of all 24 hour hot running water (surprisingly not always present during my travels!). Hostel Mostel in Sofia is located centrally to the city and perfectly placed amongst the city’s tourist attractions and must sees. Furthermore there were outdoor markets just a short walking distance away, along with clubs, bars and restaurants. When I wanted to stay in and chill out one evening in the city I was greeted with an in house pool table, huge plasma screen television and fantastic communal area where I could exchange tales with fellow travellers. The dorms were mixed which didn’t present a problem to me, and seemed to comprise of either a 6 or 8 bed set up, sheets were clean and bathrooms were en-suite (apparently the only hostel in Sofia to offer this!). Lastly, for those on a tight budget and wanting to cook their own dinners rather than dine out, the hostel provides a modern kitchen were you can self cater. So if you are travelling to Sofia and looking for a great place to stay – Hostel Mostel is the one for you!!
